ROCKET

Describe your classes in 3 words

Fun, personal, and self-regulated.

How are students going to feel after attending one of your classes?

After one of my Rocket classes, students will feel lighter and more present. The rocket series are very fun and active sequences of poses but the most important thing is how we move in between those poses, how we use our breath and become aware of how we move our body around the mat. The energetic and medium-paced series will help you shut down the outside world, keep you present in the moment and teach you how to find a balance between comfort and growth in each pose.

Tell us 3 things we need to know about you!

  • My husband and I rescued a 3-week old puppy from Guatemala and brought it to Denmark with us. Her name is Pancha and she's now 2 years old.

  • I grew up with yoga because my mom is a yoga teacher and I used to teach at her holistic center in Guatemala.

  • I have lived in 4 different cities in the last 3 years.

Where are you from?

Guatemala

What is your story with Yoga?

I did my first rocket training in 2014 in San Francisco at Asta Yoga with Steve and Rene (Larry Schultz's students, the creator of Rocket yoga). The Rocket yoga style was exactly what I needed to both, feel empowered in my own body and get to know myself better. After going back to my home country Guatemala I helped create the Rocket community there and hosted Steve Pyka, my teacher, for multiple rocket trainings welcoming people from around the world.

As it has happened to many people, my yoga practice had a huge impact on my life beyond the mat. It made me more self aware and confident as I made life-changing decisions to look for my purpose and achieve my dreams. After teaching in Guatemala for 2 years I moved to San Francisco and taught at Asta Yoga until 2020.

What influences your style of teaching?

The idea that "you're stronger than you think you are". I love to encourage my students to tune into their bodies and engage in a personal discovery journey because not only every person is different but also your practice can look different every day.

What’s your favourite snack?

Popcorn!

What do you do for self-care?

I have a gratitude journal I write on before going to bed to fully be able to unplug from my day.
